Battery scrap processing
The battery disposal consists of number of metals ad other components which can be used again and as a secondary metal. Therefore, a proper recycling of scrap batteries is required in order to retrieve the elements that are present in them.
Now, it is the turn to talk about lead processing. Lead batteries are refined in a furnace through heat treatment. The end result is that the metals are recovered. There is similar thermal technique is used in order to recover cadmium and iron-nickel from the NiCd batteries. The most famous and widely used process for metal conversion is High Temperature Metal Reclamation process. The materials that are recovered through this are used in the production of steel.
To recover zinc from zinc-carbon and alkaline-manganese batteries, the process of Smelting and other thermal-metallurgical processes are applied. Li-Ion batteries which are mostly used in the cellular phones are processed through Pyrolysis process. There is wide range of extracting useful materials from used batteries but the final result is to utilize the scrap metals.
